Laser Cut Town Signs

Being able to physically touch my work is important to me. One tool that has been a godsend for me was the laser cutter. Over the past five years, I’ve gone from making simple wood pieces based on premade digital designs to multi-layered pieces, assembled and finished with wood stain, paint, or both.

This set of signs was designed for the final of my typography workshop class. The instructions were to take everything we head learned throughout the first half of the semester and use the second half to work on our own individual projects. I chose to use my experience with the laser cutter to make a set of signs based on fictional towns from the horror movies Friday the 13th and Children of the Corn.
