Oddity Toybox Environmental Sign

Reusing an old logo from an old mock-up museum branding project I worked on a few years ago, The museum focused on obscure or odd pieces of pop culture memorabilia, mainly old toys. I created this sign to push myself with what I can do with a laser cutter. My previous work with the laser cutter was limited to simple vectors that would result in a finished project once the cut was finished.

The sign is constructed of two structural layers made of interlocking pieces almost like a large jigsaw puzzle. The top layer features the design of the sign with an interlocking section blocked out by color. Materials and tools used in the construction were plywood sheets, wood glue, oil and water-based wood stains, and all made possible with a VLS Laser System.
